Teng·ga·ra (Adj. Bahasa Indonesia.)
- Compass point; the direction toward the point of the horizon midway between south and east.
- It is thought to originate from the Tamil word describing the monsoons that carried people and goods from South Asia to here.
Tenggara is a fusion of the two of us. Leon from Australia and Liz from Indonesia. The beer in your hands is a culmination of our shared values, cultures and experiences.
Together, we have been brewing on a small scale in Jakarta since early 2018. It’s been a long and choppy journey navigating the uncharted waters of our young Indonesian craft beer scene.
Finally in 2024, we are able to hoist our sails and share our thoughtfully crafted beers with all of you.
As well as making really good beers, our hope is to also brew a broader culture of beer appreciation in this region, one sip at a time.
